YT 6000 – Rover V8 Pro Street Brass Bushed Roller Rockers
Street / Strip | Wide Roller | Adjustable | Shaft Mount
The Yella Terra YT 6000 Pro Street Roller Rockers are designed for high-revving street and strip Rover-based V8 applications where strength, reliability and valvetrain stability are essential.
Manufactured and assembled in Australia using high-quality materials and componentry consistent with those used throughout our Platinum Race Series, the YT 6000 combines a proven shaft-mount design with strong, lightweight aluminium rocker arms and wide hardened steel roller tips. Designed to withstand up to 600 lbs maximum open spring pressure* while retaining the factory-size bolt-down hardware, the YT 6000 is ideal for serious street, performance and strip engines.
Applications
Suit:
- Rover Alloy V8 – 3.5L, 3.9L & 4.6L
- Leyland P76 Alloy V8 – 4.4L
- Buick / Oldsmobile Alloy V8 – 215ci
Performance by Design
Our range of true rocker ratios allows engine builders to achieve increased valve lift without relying solely on aggressive camshaft lobe profiles. Increasing lift through rocker ratio can help reduce the aggressive acceleration and inertia imposed on lifters and pushrods by the violent camshaft ramp rates often required to achieve similar valve lift. For harsh street and strip applications, the YT 6000 is designed to provide the strength, stability and durability required to keep the valvetrain under control.
Why Choose Pro Street?
600 lbs Maximum Open Spring Pressure*
Built to withstand up to 600 lbs maximum open valve spring pressure for demanding performance applications.
CNC Billet Bushed Rocker Arms
Intricately machined and balanced CNC rocker arms help maintain valvetrain stability and consistent operation at higher engine speeds.
Aircraft-Grade Aluminium
Manufactured from high-quality aircraft-grade aluminium, providing an excellent combination of strength, reduced mass and heat dissipation.
Proven Shaft-Mount Design
The bolt-on shaft system mounts both inlet and exhaust rockers to a common shaft, providing a stable mounting arrangement and increased load distribution without requiring major cylinder-head modification.
Wide Hardened Steel Roller Tips
The YT 6000 uses a wide valve-tip roller, providing a generous contact surface for strength and durability. The chromoly steel roller tips are hardened and precision ground, with positive retention by an internal circlip.
The roller-tip design reduces sliding friction across the valve tip, helping minimise the valve-tip and guide wear commonly associated with non-roller rocker designs while contributing to smoother and quieter valvetrain operation.
Adjusters and Pushrods
The YT 6000 is available with 3/8" cup adjusters.
Pushrod length must always be measured for the individual engine combination before ordering pushrods. Do not assume the original pushrod length will remain correct after changing rockers, cylinder heads, valves, camshaft, lifters or other valvetrain components.
Rocker Shaft Compatibility – Important
The YT 6000 is designed to fit the original-style Rover V8 rocker shaft arrangement. However, genuine, used and aftermarket replacement shafts can vary slightly in diameter between manufacturers. The YT 6000 has a nominal rocker bore of approximately 20.58 mm ID. As a general reference, original and replacement Rover V8 shafts commonly measure approximately 20.50–20.53 mm OD, and recent Britpart replacement shafts have been found within this general range. Always measure the actual rocker shaft being used before assembly. Do not assume that every aftermarket shaft advertised for a Rover V8 is dimensionally identical.
The rocker must rotate freely on the lubricated shaft without binding. If the rocker is tight, do not force it onto the shaft. Measure the shaft OD with a micrometer at several positions and in more than one direction.
Check for:
- Oversize shaft diameter
- Ovality or taper
- Scoring or grooving
- Burrs or raised material
- Wear on used factory shafts
If an aftermarket shaft is oversized, the preferred solution is to replace it with a correctly sized shaft. Where the shaft has been confirmed as suitable and professional final sizing of the rocker bore is required, this should only be performed using the correct precision honing or reaming equipment. Do not use abrasive paper, files or die grinders to enlarge the rocker bore. When reusing original Rover shafts, pay particular attention to wear on the loaded surface of the shaft. New rockers should not be installed onto excessively worn, scored or damaged shafts.
Rocker Cover Clearance
The YT 6000 will fit beneath the original-style rocker covers in many applications. However, there are numerous variations in rocker covers, internal baffles and associated components used across Rover V8, Rover P6, MG, Land Rover, Leyland and Buick applications. Rocker cover and baffle clearance must therefore be physically checked during installation. Depending on the particular engine and rocker cover combination, thicker rocker cover gaskets may be required to provide adequate clearance.
