YELLA TERRA – FLYWHEEL COUNTERBALANCE PLATE
SUITS: Small Block & Big Block Chevrolet 327, 350, 396, 427 engines
(168-tooth driveplate)
This counterbalance plate is installed between the crankshaft flange and the flywheel/flexplate. It is required when running a neutral-balance driveplate on an externally balanced engine.
Compatible only with Yella Terra YT9901 and YT9901L (large pattern).
**Not compatible with YT9900 or YT9900L flywheels.
PLEASE NOTE:
This balancing plate solely corrects for the removal of an externally balanced (counterweighted) flywheel or flexplate. An externally weighted harmonic balancer must still be used on the engine.
**Why this counterbalance plate cannot be used with YT9900 or YT9900L flywheels:
This plate is designed specifically for YT9901 and YT9901L flywheels on externally balanced engines.
The YT9900 series flywheels have a different bolt pattern, size, and balance type. Using the plate with these flywheels would prevent proper installation and could create engine vibration or clearance issues The YT9900/9900L flywheels are typically internally balanced or have a different counterweight design. Adding this plate would disrupt the intended engine balance, potentially causing vibration or even damage.
